Position Summary:

We're on the hunt for a dynamic Operations Manager to lead our client’s national distribution company based in Central Texas. If you have a knack for growing businesses, experience in manufacturing and distribution of similar products, and a green thumb to match, this role is for you! As the right hand to the owners/founders you'll oversee daily operations, drive strategic growth initiatives, and champion our client's commitment to excellence in everything they do.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Operational Leadership: Ensure seamless execution across procurement, logistics, manufacturing and assembly, warehouse operations, sales, and customer service.
  • Strategic Growth: Develop and implement strategies to expand market reach and revenue streams, with a focus on promoting high-end, backyard greenhouses.
  • Entrepreneurial Vision: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to drive sustainable growth.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve strategic objectives and overcome operational challenges.
  • Warehouse Management: Streamline operations to optimize efficiency and inventory management.

Qualifications:
 
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of successfully managing teams and driving strategic objectives. Preference for 10+ years of experience.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Ability to think and communicate innovative strategies and take initiative to explore new avenues for growth.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the greenhouse distribution industry and market dynamics. Related experience around agricultural nursery equipment and enclosures, lawn and garden equipment and furniture, patio and porch enclosures, garden tool shed or work sheds, etc. is acceptable.
  • Commitment to Excellence: Dedication to exceeding expectations and driving continuous improvement.
  • Locally Based: Onsite leadership required to support day-to-day operations. Relocation may be supported for a highly qualified, industry-experienced candidate.
  • Green Thumb and Dirty Fingernails: Passion for gardening, yard and lawn care is essential, along with experience and enjoyment in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Adept with tools, warehouse equipment and machinery, such as forklifts and conveyor systems.

Education & Experience:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Logistics, Wholesale Distribution, Business Administration, or related field, or an additional 4 years of demonstrated equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operational leadership roles within manufacturing and/or distribution, with a focus on greenhouse, garden center, or agricultural operations preferred. Related experience around agricultural nursery equipment and enclosures, lawn and garden equipment and furniture, patio and porch enclosures, garden tool shed or work sheds, etc. is acceptable.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in driving operational excellence and process improvement, with a keen understanding of supply chain management principles.
  • Strong technical proficiency in operational processes, supply chain management, and quality assurance principles.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or German is a huge plus, as is communicating and working with international suppliers, vendors, and partners from Mexico and Europe.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, including among individuals with different language abilities and cultural backgrounds, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, with a keen understanding of market dynamics and business drivers.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a passion for innovation and staying ahead of industry trends.
